Job Brief

We are looking for a candidate to join our mechanical team who is eager to take responsibility for the mechanical development of our various technologies. Our projects span all phases, from feasibility studies to plant start-up.

The primary work tasks include leading mechanical engineering project management, working on P&IDs, plant layouts, and 3D designs, specifying equipment, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring adherence to internal standards. In addition to mechanical expertise, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of the mechanical aspect of our engineering tool (COMOS). We believe the ideal candidate is a team player who respects deadlines, takes ownership of problem-solving tasks and projects, and has a strong desire to learn new things.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering efforts across our project's basic and detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up phases.
• Define the specifications for mechanical equipment design.
• Lead the development and setup of the mechanical part of our engineering tool (COMOS).
• Coordinate the work of external consultants to ensure accurate execution and timely delivery across project phases.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with standards, contracts, and legal requirements.
• Support management in budgeting and cost estimates in collaboration with our cross-functional engineering team.
• Develop and maintain internal mechanical standards.

Most of the time will be spent in Gothenburg but may in the future involve traveling both national and international to our offices as well as being briefly located at the future sites as a part of a plant start-up team. Future travel is expected to be within Sweden and other parts of northern Europe.

Requirements

• You are a driven and can work with structure, both independently and in a cross-functional team
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering and good knowledge of related disciplines
• You are a team player, but you are also capable of working and come to results on your own.
• Physically capable of field work and site walk in an operating chemical plant that handles hazardous chemicals
• Can document the development process progress in an organized manner
• Can handle confidential information

Education & Experience Requirements

Higher level of education within Mechanical Engineering or similar

At least 5 years of relevant experience in an engineering environment. You need to have experience from either chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper or the mining industries.

Knowledge of EN codes and PED.

Good knowledge of using MS Office package, AutoCAD or equivalent.

It is of benefit if you have experience of:

• Design work by engineering tool systems such as Comos.
• E3D or equivalent modelling software
• Experience of project leading
• Knowledge of different filter technic and rotation equipment
• Market vendor contacts of pumps, filters, reactors, agitators, scrubbers, and mixer-settlers.
• Site supervision, field work and installation
