You now have a great opportunity to join the Special Vehicles Defense Engineering Team, which is dedicated to developing unique and customized solutions to meet the future needs of Defense vehicles.
We take an active part in making Volvo Trucks the world leader with the heavy-duty truck range FH, FM, FMX in sustainable defense logistical transport missions, and we need you to join our team and contribute to our challenging assignments.

We are an experienced engineering team from different areas cross-functionally in chassis, cab, electrical hardware and software. Within the Special Vehicles department, we also have chief project managers and vehicle and geometrical architects, which means we can take on really challenging development tasks together. Role Description
You will be part of a team responsible for the electrical engineering activities within Special Vehicles Defense Engineering. As a core member in our team, we offer you the opportunity to work in a collaborative atmosphere and a culture of can-do attitude. For this position your main responsibilities will be:
* Understand the customer requirements and translate them into a design solution.
* Lead and drive the electrical system design activities from concept to industrialization for Defense vehicles products
* As the Defense business is tender driven, meaning that you need to be able to quickly adapt and sometimes deliver solutions with short lead times
* Lead development tasks in cooperation with both internal experts and external partners and suppliers
* Drive the technical dialogue with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers, partners and most importantly our customers
* Develop and share acquired competence and provide technical advice
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities regarding way of working, business development, innovation and together build the team spirit
What's in it for you?
For success in this role, we expect you to have:
* University degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field of study
* At least 7 years of relevant experience in Automotive EE development
* Experience in SIPD (Supplier involvement in Product development) management
* Know-how on communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN, LIN etc.
* Extensive knowledge of design engineering work within the chassis area of trucks, or similar areas within the automotive sector
* Extensive experience in SABER and/or other tools for electrical schematics
* Experience with 3D CAD-tools, such as Creo or Catia to be able to route and package wiring
* Extensive experience in PDM-systems (KOLA is meriting) is needed to be efficient in this role
* Experience in the Defense sector or Governmental sales is needed to be successful in this role
* Fluent in written and spoken English
