We have opportunities for talented engineers to join our development team in Gothenburg, Sweden to work on global features in our web services platform development team. The AIV Platform team is seeking strong software development engineers with distributed services and web service experience to build the services that power all of Amazon Instant Video and Lovefilm devices and web globally. As an Amazon software engineering, you will design, develop, test, and run operations for core platform (web) services. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing services for consumer-facing products, a strong technical ability, excellent organizational skills, great communication skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, and, of course, a passion for TV and film.
Required experience:
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Significant experience of product development in consumer-focused companies
• Previous technical experience as software developer, or related role
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Experience developing in at least one of Java, C, C++, or Perl
• Experience developing web services, or other large scale distributed systems, that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team
• Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
