PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The ICT Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware,
software, networks and AV equipment.
The school is looking to employ an ICT technician at Level C as specified in the ICT Competences Framework document. That document is an appendix to this job description.
SCOPE
The ICT Technician reports to the SLT and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

The ICT Technician may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients (administration, staff and children). The ICT Technician may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
Child Protection
The ICT Technician?s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with whom they come into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the school?s Child Protection Policy Statement at all times. If in the course of carrying out their duties the Technician becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the school, he/she must report any concerns to the SLT (Principal or Deputy Principal). The successful applicant will be required to complete the Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure (or equivalent) check process before taking up the appointment.
