We are looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to help kick-start Media Distribution - an exciting new product area within Schibsted Media Platform. The Media Platform team operates within Schibsted Media Group?s Technology division which is a brand new technology startup with offices in London, Stockholm, Barcelona and Oslo.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of next-generation Mobile services for Schibsted Publishing and Marketplaces
Design and development of SDKs to deliver product related functionality
Native UI development with Swift/Java
Designing and consuming JSON REST APis
Optimisation and performance analysis
REQUIREMENTS
You know how to write readable, idiomatic and maintainable Objective-C and Swift.
You have a deep understanding of Cocoa design patterns and API design.
You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high quality code.
You have released at least one app on the App Store or have a project in the works that you can tell us about.
You are prepared to take on a lot of personal responsibility for the deliverables you work on.
Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed teams would be preferable
THE TEAM
The Schibsted Media Platform is a modern, digital-only set of tools for creating and managing rich media content. Having originally evolved from a new, modern CMS developed to power the Omni newsroom it's now being adopted by all of Schibsted's media houses, including Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet but also Blocket. The Media Distribution team will build a common mobile framework on top of the Media Platform. Including, but not limited to, UI frameworks and SDKs providing common news app functionality.
The team will support the various media houses in experimenting and innovating locally on engaging and magical user experiences, and continuously integrate the innovations into the Media Distribution platform so that all our media houses can benefit from them.
Schibsted Media Platform's engineering organization is flat, distributed and progressive. We usually don't do meetings, and we rarely use e-mail. We use Github Enterprise to plan and track our work, and Slack as our virtual office. We take inspiration from companies like Github, Netflix and Valve. We believe in CI/CD and automation. We don't do big bang releases and we don't estimate. We're not afraid to try new things, and we've been building stuff in Node.js and Swift for a while now.
