Internship at Eos Cares Lund - a social sustainability program
Eos Cares is looking for part of full-time interns for our social sustainability program and its activities. Start date: September 2023, for a 3-month or 6-month period.

Eos Cares is a social sustainability program within the basketball club IK Eos in Lund. Eos Cares offers the population of Lund a range of social activities, free of charge. The program also collaborates with the Municipality, and with other organizations and associations, in order to create a higher degree of social inclusion for all societal groups in the local community. Last year more than 2500 participants visited the activities of Eos Cares.
Currently Eos Cares activities are organised within these following programs:
Eos Social Hub: The English-speaking unit of EOS Cares, offering social activities for networking and personal development, free and open for everyone in Lund. Within the Social Hub we run e.g. our Language Cafés, Local Discoveries, Cook & Bake Alongs, as well as several other types of acitivities and events.

Prisma: A Swedish-speaking program run together with Lund Municipality, with the aim of helping with the integration of refugees. Prisma has developed into a large-scale self-organization for help for self-help among new arrivals in Lund.

We are now looking for new interns, who want to learn from and contribute to the work of our organization. Here are some examples of tasks, duties and responsibilities that an intern may be responsible for as a team member:
Language Cafés: Helping with the set up of sessions, leading conversations or supporting volunteer conversation leaders, recruiting new participants and volunteers, market the activites

Seminars, workshops and events: organizing seminars and other event-formats about various topics relevant for social inclusion, professional networking and personal development

Involvement in regular social activities like "Cook & Bake along", "Local Discoveries", "Book Clubs", "Upcycling and Handcraft workshops", "Bicycle school" and more.

Marketing, communication and graphic design : Involvement in the marketing and communications efforts of our organization to broaden outreach and the number of visitors.

External relations: Collaboration with other relevant organisations and stakeholders in the region

Language Accelerator: Small-group sessions in Swedish or English for employees and visitors as high quality conversational training.

Note: If you speak any of the languages that are common among refugees (Arabic, Persian/Dari, Turkish, Ukrainian, Tigrinya, Somali etc), a lot more opportunities open up to participate in various support activities.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who is doing a bachelor's or master's degree in Social and Behavioural Sciences, Cultural Sciences, Development Studies, Humanities, Political Sciences, Languages or Communication. We expect you to have
Passion for the topics that we focus on, such as social sustainability, diversity and inclusion, international migration & ethnic relations

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to take own initiatives and to handle challenges in a constructive and positive way.

Language skills - English or Swedish is a must. Any additional languages are more than welcome. If you speak Arabic, Persian/Dari, Turkish, Ukrainian, Tigrinya, Somali etc a lot more opportunities open up to participate in various support activities.

Computer skills and experiences with social media

Structured way of working, good communications skills, service minded

Interest in and experience of working in an international and multicultural environment, intercultural sensitivity and intercultural communication skills

Depending on role, tasks and scope, the internship will provide a substantial degree of general work experience, as well as experience of activity management, leadership, and knowledge about the NGO sector and societal integration efforts. You will also establish a good network of personal relations during the internship. For interns that are interested, Eos Cares can also offer the opportunity to participate in the Swedish-Accelerator program.
The internship is unpaid and should be part of your education or approved by Arbetsförmedlingen. Its duration should be 12 weeks as a minimum, but preferably longer. The amount of working hours per week is set individually in agreement with the program management, and can fall within the range of 15 hours/week up to full time. It may vary substantially from week to week depending on the tasks at hand. Due to the nature of leisure-time activities, work hours can also be on evenings and/or weekends, if corresponding with the intern's availability.
