Become one of our 20 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges, and matching profile.
Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.
Your role as a Trainee - Maintenance Development Engineer
Forsmark's nuclear power plant reactors were put into operation in the 1980s and is the largest electricity producer in Sweden. Forsmark's nuclear power plant delivers fossil-free electricity all year round. Maintenance Engineering Development are responsible for analysis and cross-functional development projects. This department develops the maintenance of Forsmark's three production units.
Your daily activities:
Perform analyses to optimise the facility's maintenance program in connection with renewal of the plant and for existing equipment
Coordinate and report analyses involving different technical areas to reflect current status of the power plant
Analyse and report root causes for events and production disturbances
Review modifications in maintenance programs and maintenance instructions to minimise the risk of reactor safety and production issues

As a Trainee - Maintenance Development Engineer, you recognise yourself in the following:
Master's degree in Engineering - preferably within nuclear, mechanical, electrical, automation or energy engineering
Have a strong academic record - please merge grade records with your CV
Extracurricular activities with project management elements within relevant area is meritorious
A pronounced technical interest within the energy field.
Your personality is what counts in this traineeship. We are looking for a passionate problem solver with humble and open approach. You are driven, ambitious and result-oriented with the ability to analyze and break down complex issues. You have a good cooperative ability to be able to support all parts of the maintenance department and are able to work independently.
You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree or you graduate before September 2022. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.
Location:
You will be working in the Maintenance department at Forsmark Nuclear Power Plant and the position is located in Forsmark in Sweden.

Selection period starts in February with online tests followed by the interviews in March. An assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in April. The recruitment process will be finalized around the end of April. The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the Vattenfall International Trainee Programme will be September 1st, 2022.
