Position
Group Customs & Cargo Risk Management organization is responsible to secure compliance to customs rules & regulations, and optimize Volvo Group processes to reduce duty costs globally. We are around 80 employees around the world with expertise in Customs and Export Control regulations and how those translate to risks and opportunities within Volvo Group operations. We also manage the risks related to cargo in transport in the Volvo Group.
We now need to strengthen the global development function with a Customs Developer especially focusing on emerging markets. Emerging markets often have rapidly changing and rather demanding regulations.
As Customs Developer you will have contacts with colleagues across the whole of Volvo Group to find solutions to International Trade related issues and/or opportunities related to emerging markets. You will actively improve Volvo Group processes to secure Customs Compliance, and address opportunities to reduce Duty levels and improve lead-times.

Tasks would include:
Identify needs and opportunities to develop or implement the customs process.
Cooperate closely with Local organizations, other Development functions, Customs Compliance Managers, and Master Data Specialists
Translate Customs regulations and feedback from Compliance into practical business solutions.
Define and follow-up Process change Implementation road-maps.
Lead chosen Development activities to optimize customs set-ups and processes; these activities can be aiming to improve compliance or duty costs or efficiency, or be related to new logistics or trade set-ups.

Overall requirements:
Master of Science or Business Administration
Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen
Excellent spoken and written English (Additional languages are given merit)
Maximum of two years previous work-experience after graduation
International experience is meriting
Additional
Knowledge of International Trade/ Customs processes and regimes
Project Management experience

Education
1st choice: Degree in Trade/Customs or International Business.
2nd choice: Degree in Law
3rd choice: Degree in Logistics
