Volvo Group Digital and IT - Infrastructure and OnSite Services (IOS)
Volvo Group Digital and IT - Infrastructure and OnSite Services is a global unit consisting of approximately 700 employees and consultants in most of the Volvo Group's locations. Our mission is to ensure that we provide Volvo with the right End-User tools and services at agreed quality and to an optimal cost.
Business Infrastructure Management (BIM)
Business Infrastructure Management is a global department in charge of IT Infrastructure & end user services for all business areas, which encompasses:
* All "end-user IT workplace" services (IT equipment, End user clients, Telephony, IT helpdesk, Desktop applications, collaboration workplace in MS Office 365, e.g. TEAMS and SharePoint, ..., ...)
* As well as common and shared IT services such as Network (Wired ethernet network, WiFi, and other specialized connect services), Printing and Identity management services (User Accounts ...).
Position Description
Manager Business Infrastructure Management VCE (Volvo Construction Equipment)
You will lead a team of Business Infrastructure Managers, overseeing their mission, performance, and development. Their role includes managing end-user services and IT infrastructure for Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE), capturing business needs, translating them into deliveries, communicating solutions, and overseeing budgets and quality. Additionally, you will serve as the Lead BIM for VCE, acting as the primary IOS interface for these services.
As a Business Infrastructure Manager, you will drive business changes to support Volvo Group's transformation and digitalization. Reporting to the Head of Business Infrastructure Management and part of the BIM management team, you will work globally, collaborating with VCE CDO, IOS Service Management, IOS OnSite, partner HCL, and other Volvo IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Your role is to capture IT service needs from Volvo business entities and ensure alignment with Group IT strategies, service development, and deployment roadmaps. You will oversee VCE requests for existing IT services, manage delivery, and handle IT equipment expenses and budgets.
Building strong relationships with business stakeholders and Volvo Group Digital and IT teams-especially in Infrastructure and IT services-is essential. You will also coordinate site IT contacts regionally to ensure a consistent user experience at key VCE locations.
A key focus is driving the deployment and adoption of new IT services while optimizing existing ones. As part of the Business Infrastructure Management team, you will contribute to Infrastructure Portfolio Service Strategy and Design in collaboration with the Service Management Team.
Additionally, you will coach and support business infrastructure managers, handling team leadership, including recruitment, retention, competence development, and salary setting.
Required Competencies & Leadership Skills
Education & Technical Expertise
* Relevant university degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
* Strong experience in IT infrastructure design, delivery, and/or support.
* Deep knowledge of IT services and infrastructure, with at least an advanced user level in one or more areas of the Volvo Group Digital & IT service catalog.
Business & Strategic Acumen
* Business-oriented mindset with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
* Strong project management skills and experience working in complex environments.
* Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remove roadblocks and adapt quickly to new challenges.
Leadership & Collaboration
* Proven leadership experience, either as a line manager or in a functional leadership role.
* Experience developing, coaching, and leading people in a global setting.
* Strong focus on cross-unit collaboration to enhance delivery efficiency.
* Ability to execute against set targets with integrity, trust, and managerial courage.
Communication & Language Skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Full professional proficiency in English
