Role Summary
We are looking for a driven person to fill the position of Industrial PhD Student, in a joint research initiative between TRATON Group R&D and the Division of Robotics, Perception and Learning (RPL) at KTH. The project aims to adapt large language models (LLMs) to enhance reasoning capabilities in motion planning for autonomous systems and offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of academia and industry.
Job Responsibilities
You will:
• Conduct research on reasoning-augmented motion planning using LLMs
• Design and evaluate algorithms for decision-making and autonomous motion planning
• Collaborate closely with researchers from TRATON Group and KTH
• Publish your findings at leading conferences and in journals
• Participate in courses, seminars, and workshops, and engage in the autonomous systems research community
Who You Are
You hold a Master's degree in a relevant technical field, with strong mathematical foundations, proven programming skills, and a passion for deep learning, robotics, and autonomous systems. You are self-motivated, curious, and able to work both independently and in teams. You communicate complex ideas clearly and are fluent in English.
Experience with several of the following is beneficial:
• Python, C++
• LLMs, VLMs, Foundation Models
• Deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch)
• Cloud-based development (e.g., AWS)
• Autonomous vehicles, decision-making, motion planning, or control theory
• Computer vision
• ROS
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals
