The Husqvarna Group is the world's largest producer of outdoor power products including chainsaws, trimmers, lawn mowers and garden tractors. It is the European leader in consumer irrigation equipment under the Gardena brand. The Group is also one of the world leaders in cutting equipment and diamond tools for the construction and stone industries. Net sales in 2009 were SEK 34 billion and the average number of employees was 15,000.
The Husqvarna Global Design Centre is responsible for design strategies and industrial design for all brands within the Husqvarna group. The Global Design Centre is now searching for an Industrial Designer.
The key responsibilities of the position are to:
• drive a project from initial concept through to manufacture
• ensure that the design follows the brand design strategy in question
Location:
As of October 2010 the Husqvarna Global Design Center is moving from Huskvarna to Stockholm which will be the location of your new position.
Your skills and qualifications:
• minimum Bachelor degree in Industrial Design
• minimum 3-5 years experience as industrial designer, experience within global companies with branded driven business is valued
• strong computer skills in Alias (or similar such as Rhino), and Adobe CS as well as the ability to build physical 3D models. Knowledge in other software packages such as Catia V5 is appreciated
• good understanding of materials, engineering, production and manufacturing processes required
This position will give you the opportunity to work in a team and co-operate closely with other design teams within the department which requires good communication and presentation attributes. To suit this position you have to possess good organizational skills, be able to run projects efficiently and meet both internal and external deadlines. The ideal candidate wil combine strategic and creative thinking with a strong business orientation and is fluent in English as well.
