Role Summary
The sales and demand for vehicles and engines for defence application is currently expanding, following the awards of a number of important contracts and the potential new business identified. A significant element in these contracts is the delivery of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS).
ILS is the solution required to support the complete vehicle system (including bodywork) or the engine installation over its useful life, which can be up to 30 years or sometimes even more. We offer a dynamic, vibrant, team environment for our demanding and challenging defence customers. Our ILS delivery, expressed in Scania terms is a comprehensive package of service solutions for customer support, ranging from adapting the Scania standard output to delivery and adaption of documentation, workshop tools, training and spare parts to meet customer demands. This often includes defining the maintenance plan and developing repair and maintenance contracts as part of availability obligations or as complete Fleet Care solutions tailored to the customer's specific operational requirements.
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a person who will be central for all aspects of the ILS delivery from tender preparation and negotiations to delivery management and customer relations, becoming an integral member of the strong ILS team at KPMI.
Your role will be to translate the customer's requirements to Scania deliverables and solutions and seek potential business opportunities. You will also set a structured and standardised way of working with the vast diversity of offerings in the defence services ILS portfolio that include managing cross functionally with numerous departments at head office, business units and the end customer.
You will be actively involved in managing the work with ILS related items for tenders as well as overseeing that production and delivery of ILS deliverables is initiated when a contract has been awarded. This often involves meeting international customers and subsequent need of travel.
Who You Are
Considering the diversity of this job a platform of broad general Scania experience with a good understanding of both operational and commercial aspects would be a good base. In addition you need the leadership skills necessary to work together with others to deliver successful project outcomes as this is very much a team effort with many diverse parties involved.
Other capabilities and experiences that would be valuable are:
Good negotiation, leadership and communication skills
Experience of parts and service operations and good knowledge of Scania's service offerings and solutions.
As you will be part of a network of colleagues all over the Scania organisation a thorough understanding of Scania way and roles and responsibilities within the organisation is essential in order to address different matters to the relevant units and levels.
You hold a university degree in engineering, business administration or a related field.
You will have the ability to support the upkeep of the defence service portfolio and adapt or create processes to simplify and eliminate waste
Fluent English, verbally and in writing, is a must, other language capability is also seen as an advantage
As major tenders are often handled in project form, experience from project management is an advantage.
