H2 Green Steel will produce green steel, reducing CO2 emissions with 95 percent compared to traditional steelmaking. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, we will produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden. But this is just the beginning - our expertise in green hydrogen will enable us to decarbonize other industries in addition to steel.

We are recruiting an engineer with previous experience from working in the oil & gas, petrochemical, carbon capture or energy transition industries. You will be responsible for both non-rotating and rotating equipment issues and deliverables at all stages of the project, working closely with external consultancies, vendors and suppliers and establishing solid intra and interdisciplinary relationships. You will also be responsible for interface management as it relates to the design work. In order to be successful at H2 Green Steel you will need to be able to work well in a greenfield environment, be able to navigate in ambiguity, eager to find solutions and highly motivated by driving this industry shift. We expect you are a hard worker, well organized, proactive, with a teamwork attitude, a flexible approach and ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities
Conduct reviews, verifications and provide technical support of equipment suppliers' engineering, including testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment, including familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, constructability, HAZOP, etc.
Handle the interface management related to the design and engineering work and coordinate with other internal functions such as Construction Project Planning and Control, and Procurement etc. as well as external parties
Assist with specification and selection of suitable rotating machinery/equipment
Review/evaluate equipment technical specifications and supplier documentation, specifications and mechanical & process data sheets, enquiries, technical bid analysis and technical recommendations and vendor review
Provide expert advice for construction and site activities as necessary for equipment installation, start-up and commissioning
Technical supervision of supplier design and control of supplier interface, plus the co-ordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines
Plan and monitor the execution and supporting in techno-economical evaluations
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Extensive hands-on experience in handling conceptual basic and detail engineering roles, preferably as a Senior/Principal/Lead Engineer in reputable engineering firms (having worked on assignments for green and brown field plants in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, power, oil & gas or similar) giving experience in equipment selections, specifications, requisitions, technical bids evaluation and supplier document reviews, etc.; alternatively having worked for equipment manufacturers conducting operation and maintenance of process plant equipment
Applicable and demonstrable experience working on rotating, package equipment, material handling equipment for process plant project
Good knowledge with International Codes and Standards applicable to all types of (API and Non-API) compressors, turbines, pumps, blowers agilators, material handling equipment etc.
Excellent English communication skills
