Primary Objective:
The HSE Manager has key accountability for managing the Health, Safety and Environmental risks for the project development. The HSE Manager oversees the HSE Contractor Leads in the implementation of the Project specific Safety Management Plan. He will ensure the Contractor provides a project and construction site which complies with the relevant Occupational and Safety Legislation and the Project specific HSE requirements according to the Project specific HSE management plan.
HSE Management
Performing health and safety management functions to the project and support for the project management team, including HSE coaching & mentoring for effective safety leadership.
Utilising the Worley Management system to undertake risk assessment of the project.

If needed develop HSE standards, systems and procedures to support the project.
Develop and implement HSE training for the project including orientation, hazard analysis & safety leadership.
Implement robust contractor management process including pre-selection, orientation and on-the-ground review of performance (informal & formal)
Ensure effective hazard & incident management processes are implemented including the use of the Worley Assurance System.
Implement effective Emergency Preparedness and Response plans aligned with Worley & Client Crisis Management Plans.
Performe Systematic Work Environment Management
Manage Office HSE including;
Ensure relevant HSE training is provided and is up to date,
Co-ordinate all fire drills as requested by building management, ensure fire fighting equipment is up to date
Ensure all first aid listings and equipment are up to date and all first aid kits are re-stocked regularly
Ensure floor listing of fire wardens, first aid officers and HSE Committee members is regularly updated
Convene HSE committee meetings
Manage all HSE related issues that arise from HSE floor inspections
Ensure full compliance of HSE matters are adhered to for audit purposes
Essential Skills / Experience:
10 years HSE experience as a senior Safety professional role in a heavy industry environment.
Understanding of the principles and practices of HSE Management and the implementation and improvement of management systems.
Proven capability in managing and controlling budgets and schedules along with strong leadership and communications skills.
Solid strategic planning ability within a Commercial environment, also being able to operate at Senior Management level
Desirable:
Ideally arriving from an EPCM or Operations type environment
Matching Indicators:
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail
Ability to deal with conflicting priorities in a busy environment
Pro-active team player
