Watty is a unique startup that's determined to eliminate energy waste in the world's homes by making sense of energy data with software. We do this through a combination of an IoT device that streams data back to our platform which in turn is predicted using large scale machine learning models and processed in several more steps until finally, it is presented back to the user in an understandable form.
We are a Swedish startup with about 10 people working full-time out of an office in Gamla Stan. We collectively speak Persian, Finnish, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, German, French and a number of Swedish dialects. Joining our team means being an integral part of our group and being involved in many parts of building our business. Job Description:
Watty is looking for exceptional machine learning engineers to solve an exceptional machine learning problem. We're a startup that use machine learning to solve an incredibly challenging real-life problem: sustainable use of energy. By using machine learning algorithms to handle the interpretation of energy data we have created a low-cost platform to diagnose the energy use of buildings. Watty aims to change how the energy market functions by empowering consumers and companies by giving them all the information they need to make good, rational, energy decisions.
Our ideal candidate will be able to identify itself with one or more of these points:
• Has a passion for solving real problems with machine learning.
• Has a strong academic background, possibly a PhD
• Experience in leading research
• Has hands on experience with using ML on time-series
• Enjoys mentoring others and leading a team/project
• Feature learning and/or feature engineering for time-series.
• Believes that there is no one-fit-all solution to all ML problems but will rather use the right tool for the right job, be it a bayesian method, neural networks or anything else in between
