hela Sverige The Administration Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for Head of Information Technology (IT).
Description of division
ESS IT division consists of 30 employees and the work environment is characterized by continuous change and development, high work pace and an international atmosphere with many perspective and experiences. ESS currently has approximately 485 employees representing over 50 nationalities but will when in operations, in addition support around 2000 users in the Scientific community. During the coming years ESS will continue to grow.
This role will see you manage the internal staff at the IT divisionand external providers to support the entire ESS project and preparing for the transition to an organisation in operation. The role is varied and you and your teams are responsible for strategic as well as operational IT. You will lead and coach a dedicated team, organised in two groups: IT Operations & Support and IT Information Systems.
The IT division shall provide sufficient, secure and cost efficient IT services to support ESS throughout the lifecycle selecting sustainable solutions. At the same time the integrity of the ESS employees and critical services shall be protected. You will be in close collaboration with the Director for Project Support and Administration as well as the CISO.
Main responsibilities
• Own and fine-tune the IT processes, integrating them successfully into the teams, ensuring operation as usual upon changes and implementation
• Drive service development based on the organisation's needs
• Control and manage the IT budget, for service, labor and capital investment
• Create an IT road map which underpins and reinforces ESS values
• Maintenance of e.g. ERP, PLM, Collaboration platform, WEB, ServiceNow
• Distribute and develop operational reports, anchored in our service level agreements
• Manage and develop supplier relationship for key services
• Embed a company culture, with an emphasis on customer focus, quality, continuous improvement and development
• Constantly monitor and ensure all IT procedures are efficient and effective
• Inspire and influence stakeholders at many levels, taking ownership and responsibility for delivering solutions aligned to the organisation's need
Qualifications
We believe you have a university degree in Information Technology or equivalent and have the following experience:
• At least 10 years of experience in Information Technology Management
• At least 5 years of proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Proven track record in working strategically with IT and policies that impact the organisation
• Previous experience from working in a similar scientific environment is strongly preferred
• Fluent in English and excellent writing skills; knowledge of Swedish and other European languages is an advantage
• Top to bottom knowledge of IT, including infrastructure (networks etc.)
• Application maintenance (both customized and configured) and development
• Experience managing software and infrastructure suppliers with a keen sense to adapt to the current needs of the organisation
• ITIL certified and have worked accordingly

Duration & Location
The position is permanent and your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
