As a Head of Health, you will drive our health strategy including comprehensive programs covering physical, mental, and occupational health and industrial hygiene to support employee wellbeing and workplace safety. To enhance the health discipline in Global HSE Function and collaborate closely with the Global BU Head of HSE to provide strategic direction in the health and wellbeing domain.
Because this is a global position, you will be working with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors from all over the world. It is critical that you work well as part of a team and understand how to communicate effectively and clearly.
How you'll make an impact
To define, deploy and update the health strategy at Hitachi Energy (including Physical Health, Mental Well-being, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene).
Co-ordination with HSE Leadership Team to establish an effective network to define and develop indicators to govern health and wellbeing for employees.
To develop and improve Hitachi Energy's health and wellbeing related policies and process that are aligned to the One HSE overall strategy, core values, and culture.
To promote sustainable, enduring, and equitable improvements in health, safety, and wellbeing through preventive risk-based interventions.
To support the development and deployment of standards and operating procedures for occupational health, safety and wellbeing, information security, business continuity compliance standards, checklists, guidance documents and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
To support with the recruitment, on boarding and development of occupational health and industrial hygiene staffs, ensuring capacity and capability building training plans are implemented and deliver adequate professional resources development.
To represent Hitachi Energy efforts on wellbeing and be able to deliver keynotes during focused internal/external events /conferences and seminars on health and wellbeing.
To be the final reference on professional occupational health advice for employee's health and rehabilitation, wherever applicable, ensuring that cases are actively monitored until the case has reached a satisfactory conclusion.
To govern active health surveillance and provide required advice on health and safety topics, health promotion and education to LOUs and BUs and HR function.
To monitor standards of occupational health for various countries wherein our manufacturing, service and office locations exist in coordination with the local responsible team.
To lead the investigations of occupational health related events and provide root causes of the events as well as provide and govern the improvements.
To develop and maintain close working relationships with BU health teams to monitor and ensure the highest standards of occupational health delivery.
To take accountability for identifying, influencing and implementing improvements to the service provided by external vendors from health and wellbeing point of view, looking for opportunities to improve the employee offerings.
To review enterprise-level risk assessments to determine high health risk areas and review emergency response plans, including medical evacuation, in conjunction with HSE and security teams for local units.
To provide technical, functional expertise and direction, as needed, to location health professionals and re-view their performance in conjunction with the local managers.
To conduct occasional health audits to ascertain the robustness of health management.
To define frameworks to align expectations across the BUs and propose innovative solutions designed to lead the health function in new direction, as needed.
To oversee the publication of periodic health information and alerts and to propagate health and wellbeing communications.
To respond, together with the crisis team, to emergencies such as epidemics and major accidents and as-sist security team in case of medical evacuations of business travellers.
To develop a network of relations with specialized medical centres and institutes across the globe that can provide medical expertise, aligned to the global footprint.
To develop and implement the cultural and process change strategies necessary to ensure successful implementation of comprehensive and best-in-class health programs that effectively address employee and public safety considerations.
Your background
You have a strong mindset and are able to lead large scale coordination meetings
Experience working in a similar position managing health domain at corporate level
Graduate in Medical Sciences and preferably post-graduation in occupational health and safety or another related field
8-10 years of experience in Health with focus on health and wellbeing program management
Expert knowledge of medical sciences and occupational health is desired
Working on an international position with multi-national engagement is preferable
Fluency in English and strong analytical skills, excellent writing, and communication skills with experience of C-level business discussions
