About the job
We are on the lookout for a Head of Applications who will be the first to join the Applications team! Your first mission is to help us build the team within Applications, and create an applications portfolio. You will also take ownership of IT relevant aspects of applications within that portfolio with the aim of providing a governance service that can meet the demands of our global business in our high growth journey. You will develop the portfolio strategy together with the IT & Digitalization Leadership team and assess the capability of current systems and emerging technology to advise the business effectively.
As Head of Applications you will also build, develop, and lead a skilled team and support them in their day-to-day operational work and throughout their career development.

About you
• Comprehensive knowledge of IT application management and vendor management
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, a related field or equivalent practical experience
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, influence and motivate teams
• Experience working across business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver outcomes
• ITIL certification desirable

You will
• Define and execute the portfolio strategy, including the vision for how our services will create a world class experience, greater collaboration, and better support for Polarium and for our customers
• Develop and use the portfolio to meet business requirements and create maximum value
• Be the main point of contact and advice for best practice in your area. Provide technical architectural expertise, direction, and advice to your team and others and ensure these are aligned to organizational goals, objectives, and standards
• Actively manage relationships with vendors, ensuring awareness of our road map. Act as a bridge between the business and vendors, maintaining relationships to the advantage of our business
• Working within IT policies and architecture: analyse, design, build, test, and release applications on time and to specification.
• Plan, prioritize and perform upgrades, fix requests, or minor enhancements
• Create and maintain up to date documentation and diagrams for each application within the Portfolio.
• Help hire and develop a team of IT professionals who are focused on delivering world class experience and support to employees.
