Job description

Atlas Copco is looking for a new Group Tax Counsel to fulfill our mission of proactively manage tax issues to ensure tax compliance and tax efficiency. The Group Tax department works with transfer pricing, restructurings, M&A, and tax planning. With subsidiaries in approximately 90 countries, the position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a broad variety of interesting and challenging tax issues in a very successful international industrial company.

You, as a senior tax expert with extensive experience in international as well as Swedish taxation, will work in the Group Tax department that has the global responsibility for all tax matters of the Atlas Copco Group. The Group Tax department will consist of six professionals, incl. the Group Tax Counsel. The position will report to the Head of Group Tax.

Mission

The main tasks for the position include:
• Proactively maintain and develop the tax strategy for the Group.
• Participate in M&A transactions as advisor on tax and legal structure issues.
• Support with tax risk analyses and tax risk reporting process.
• Support with analyses of the Group's income tax expense, effective tax rates, tax losses carried forward and paid taxes.
• Provide advice and support on day-to-day operational tax matters, e.g. restructurings.
• Domestic and cross border dispute management and litigations.

Experience requirements

You have at least 5 years' experience in the area of taxation, preferably from both tax work within a tax advisory firm and large multinational company. You have detailed knowledge of international and Swedish corporate income tax law and experience in managing large tax projects.

Educational requirements

You have an academic degree in law with focus on international tax.

Personality requirements

You are an analytical problem-solver with good judgment and have a proven ability to take initiatives and work independently. You manage to work and deliver well under tight deadlines and in stressful situations with the ability to manage complex tax matters. You have strong technical and analytical skills, including experiences in managing large tax projects and ability to solve unstructured tax problems. To be successful it is necessary to have a strong business understanding, strong social skills and excellent communication skills in English and Swedish (written and oral). You are a team player and function well in project teams both as a project member and as a project leader.
