SSEI Stockholm is recruiting an independently motivated colleague with a strong background and experience in sustainable finance, and an interest in applied research on the "greening" of the financial system.

The candidate will join a team of colleagues investigating the role of the financial system, financial institutions and innovative financial products, in the transition towards a green and sustainable financial system. The new 2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Paris Climate Agreement have made it more clear than ever that the financial sector now has a vital role to play in driving sustainable development. SEI is increasingly engaging in the topic of how the financial sector can catalyse change towards green and sustainable investments. A particular current focus is on the role of innovative financial instruments, such as green bonds, their potential, the drivers and barriers to their mainstreaming and understanding investor behaviour and motivations. The candidate would initially work on a project on greening investments in the face of climate risks. With time, it is expected that the candidate will develop and lead his/her own research portfolio in collaboration with SEI colleagues.
