Job description
Summary: This position is responsible for planning, performing, and reporting on drive train (gearbox, main shaft, and main bearing) inspections, exchanges and repairs throughout Scandinavia and the Baltics. This position is also responsible for trouble-shooting support for all components associated with the drive train (pumps, fans, sensors, etc.). Approx. 65-75% travel related to site work is required.
The gearbox specialist will interface with clients and manage small crews on a regular basis.
The position will be based in Uppsala, Sweden but will cover all of Scandinavia and the Baltics
Position will report to a Technical Back office manager also based in Uppsala, Sweden
Primary Responsibilities:
• Inspections (borescope) of drive train components (main shaft + bearings, gearbox + gears + bearings)
• Gearbox repairs ? high speed bearings, high speed shafts, intermediate speed bearings, mechanical pump
• Generator bearing repairs
• Document repairs and create basic reports
• Assist in troubleshooting of drive train related issues (pumps, sensors, brakes, cooling unit, filters, etc.)
• ·Assist in large corrective (crane work) replacements of gearboxes and main shaft assemblies
• Responsible for CMS and Oil sampling data to ensure actions are tracked and closed off
• 3rd party report evaluation (CMS, borescope inspections)
• Creation of related Q-Notes
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Support site O&M and troubleshooting efforts.
• Ensure tooling containers are taken care of (implement 5S) and main component exchange kit is tested / certified
• Support customer meetings and negotiations
• Be part of the Nordex Global ?Gearbox expert group? and tasks related to that
Job requirements
• Gear box experience and background is preferred for position
• Climb towers up to 120 meters
• Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment to ensure work is performed in safe manner
• Complete and maintain required documentation and records accurately
• Ensure cleanliness of facility and tools
• Conduct safety analysis
• Maintain inventory of tools, expendables, used parts and spares
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Required:
• Previous experience in a relative field
• Valid Driver License
• Endoscopy experience
• Advanced knowledge about mechanical drives
• Knowledge in the field of vibration analysis
• Microsoft office
• English in speaking and writing
• Flexible in regards to travelling
