We are looking for a self-driven, tech-savvy and passionate Functional Safety & Diagnostics Engineer to join the Polestar Propulsion department within R&D.

Your experience in functional safety according to ISO26262 and/or diagnostics would be invaluable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.

This position is located at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you'll do
Propulsion System & Controls is a part of the Polestar Propulsion department with a mission to deliver results which exceed the customers' expectations. The team consists of software engineers, developers for functions, calibration engineers and system designers. The responsibility covers torque management, energy management and thermal management.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Take part of requirements analysis, which will serve as base for implementation
• Design and calibration of diagnostic functions for Electric Vehicles
• Design and calibration of nominal safety functionality to ensure a robust and safe safety system
• Design and calibration of safety functions to ensure fulfillment of the Technical Safety Concept (TSC)
• Support in system design of safety and diagnostic concepts
• Take part in and perform integration testing
• Take part in and perform rig level testing (HIL, dyno tests etc.)
• Take part in and perform Simulink library components development
• Do error tracing
• Set up and perform simulation of functions

Who you are
You have a strong will to create the future of electric vehicles - it's probably fair to call you an EV nerd passionate about solving climate changes. As a person you are driven with a can-do mindset. You are a team player and are motivated by challenges and enjoy cooperating with others to reach common goals. You are enthusiastic, well-organized and you're not afraid to try new approaches and out of the box methods.

To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

• M.Sc. Eng or equivalent relevant education or experience
• Matlab/Simulink/Programming knowledge
• ISO26262 knowledge

• Drivers licence B

Desired experience, not a must:

• Experience and knowledge in diagnostics over CAN, LIN, DoIP, UDS
• Experience in structuring, developing and maintaining SWC:s and monitor systems
• Diagnostic specification/authoring tool experience
• Experience in diagnostic sequences such as ECU reprogramming and how the tester exchanges data with client ECUs
• Experience in development of autosar components e.g. DEM, FIM, DCM and API towards SW compositions
• Data acquisition knowledge
• Data analysis knowledge
• Hands on vehicle knowledge
• Experience from development of automotive safety related E/E systems

• Vehicle architectural design experience
