If yes - then we are hoping for you to join our team and lead our frontend engineering area for Portfolio Brands Engineering.

Portfolio Brands Engineering is part of Business Tech within H&M group and support technical development for COS, Weekday, Monki, H&M HOME, & Other Stories, ARKET, and Afound. We are on a journey to implement latest innovative solutions, offering seamless navigation, personalized recommendations, and an immersive browsing experience. We leverage advanced technologies to ensure a fast, secure, and user-friendly interface, allowing customers to explore our curated collections effortlessly. Our commitment to excellence drives us to continuously enhance our digital storefront and ensuring that our customers experience an exceptional online shopping journey.

You will be part of a global network of frontend community and foster collaboration across sites and organizations. You will heavily support your colleagues in Portfolio Brands Engineering, as well as in other value streams of Portfolio Brands Product teams.
Job Description:
As Area Manager, you will lead an engineering area for frontend and have formal staff responsibility for several Frontend Engineering Managers. Your org size will be about 40-50 engineers. You are responsible for building a strong engineering culture and designing Community of Practices for your area and to enable and secure a strong organizational health by securing that you plan for both deliveries as well as competence development. Within your area you will be responsible for recruiting, staffing, and retaining talents including having a healthy mix of consultants and employees in appropriate tech locations. As Area Lead Engineer you will be responsible to ensure that your Engineering Managers can staff initiatives in an efficient way according to set-goals - with a healthy work/life balance.

Responsibilities:
Acting as the employers extended arm to follow and implement H&M Group's vision, goal, strategies, values, policies and processes, as well as acting as an ambassador, representing the management internally and externally
Leading and steering an area with Frontend Engineering Managers and Frontend Engineers for a set of technology, software or platform development.
Supporting your organization's employee development
Set objective and inspire team members based on specific competence needs
Performance management and salary reviews
Stay compliant with laws and policies, and act when necessary, in regard to e.g. underperformance, work environment, rehab cases etc.
Recognize progress towards ambition and goal and required growth
Budget responsibility for FTE & FTC budget
Building a strong organizational health, role & competence development
Recruitment and retention strategy for talents
To establish a continuous learning & development activity within your area and contribute to an outside-in vision for competence development
Stakeholder management
Ensuring that your teams have a healthy mix of consultants and employees in the appropriate tech locations.

Qualifications
7+ years as a technology leader using and implementing modern technologies in complex organizations at scale.
Experience in front-end development with solid understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js and related web technologies.
Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques and best practices.
4+ years of experience in managing a team of Software engineering managers or leading leaders in technology space.
Great stakeholder management skills and collaboration across business units
Interested in developing people and building an extraordinary engineering culture.
Sound financial and forecasting skills and experience handling resource allocation budgets.
Proven experience in building successful communities of practice.
Cultivate trust and empower others to both responsibilities, dare to fail, learn, and grow.
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
Ability and credibility to lead and guide both in-house and third-party teams.
Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Additional Information
For this position, we are primarily looking for candidates located in and around the Stockholm region to work in our office in Liljeholmen. We work from our office 2-3 days a week.
