The Digital Buildings Business of Schneider Electric provides Intelligent building management solutions to help customers create a productive, comfortable and safe environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently. The building ecosystem consist of 3 main businesses/applications - HVAC, Access Control and Fire Detection.
The Fire R&D team is developing the full fire system and services architecture. The embedded fire detection panels are interacting with distributed sensor systems in buildings and with a supervisory system in the cloud. Integrations to other services like alarming systems to fire brigades and integrations to building management systems are important elements of the full ecosystem.
Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of R&D Manager for our Fire Detection solution in Lund, Sweden.
In this role you will be responsible for leading the full R&D activity on Fire. You will be managing a set of cross functional teams including hardware, firmware and software. You will be collaborating with other development groups and be supported by shared services functions. You will ensure best practices are followed while being responsive in a dynamic and iterative Agile development setting.
Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and contribute to the definition and development of the offer
• Mentor and lead high performance agile development teams
• Deliver project roadmap on-time, communicating clearly with team, management and stakeholders
• Plan, organize and drive development projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Support and influence the team culture of being customer centric and continuously improving
• Instill best practices development process
• Challenge and advocate for the right outcomes with data, conviction and diplomacy
Wish list of skills and experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering experiences building and shipping high performance and scalable solutions
• Design and architecture knowledge
• Experienced agile practitioner
• Demonstrates the ability to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the business
• Leadership, planning and execution skills
