Portfolio and Feature Brand Distinction is a function within Strategic Product Planning. We support Strategic Product Planning and Volvo Group Trucks Technology with market analysis, surveys and strategic directions. The strategy is used to set targets for new products enabling the Volvo Group brands to be in the lead when the Volvo Group transforms towards 100% fossil free in 2040.
We are now looking for a Feature Specialist, Safety.
The Position:
In this role you will be cooperating in a team of specialist, setting targets, priorities and strategic directions for our customer features. This is a true cross-functional holistic role where you will work with both internal and external contacts to set the directions for our trucks. The area of safety is highly impacted and influenced by external factors. An important part of the role is to manage and define the Volvo positions towards different stakeholders in the society.
This is an important role to set the safety targets for future combustion engine, battery electric and fuel cell vehicles to maintain our leading position. New technologies will require new thinking and provide challenges in the safety area, both passive and active
To be successful in this task, you will work in a large global network together with the Volvo Group truck brands, market departments and different engineering functions to establish the strategic directions for safety. You will keep track of and follow up Volvo Group products position in relation to the competition and the market development. The main areas to follow and understand, are:
Customer requests and transport industry
Technology push
Society and regulations

You will be in the midst of our transformation, so a holistic future-looking mindset is a key ability. Other important aspects are an analytical way of working, capacity to handle large amount of information and make clear conclusions. You don't hesitate to speak your mind and can present your data in an easy to understand and convincing way.
You have a winning attitude always prepared to push the targets to secure products in the technology forefront.
You have a suitable engineering background in automotive or transport industry. You hold a M.Sc. Or B.Sc.
Experience from working with academia, external research or industry groups is meriting.
