Position Description Purchasing is preparing for the future! Due to changes on the team, Volvo Powertrain Purchasing is looking for a buyer to strengthen our Exhaust After Treatment System (EATS) purchasing team.
The new colleague we are looking for has a strong commercial drive, a true interest to conduct business and work with advanced technology in an international and multicultural environment. We look for experienced candidates with a proven track record, ready to take on strategic portfolios with a continental or global responsibility and deliver world-class purchasing performance. Previous experience from EATS purchasing and/or engineering will be considered as an advantage.
Volvo PowertrainPurchasing works with a global supplier base consisting of close partners. We are responsible for buying parts, components and complete units to our engine and transmission production plants, as well as to Volvo Group's Truck and Bus assembly plants. The buyer reports to a Purchasing Manager as well as functionally to a Global Commodity Manager.
Qualifications:
University degree in Business/Economics, Engineering and/or Chemical engineering
Probably a few years purchasing experience, preferably from the automotive industry
A result oriented, pro-active and positive attitude with good prioritization skills
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
An analytic nature and good skills in computer systems including MS Office
The position requires that you are a team player and a self-starter, with the ability to take initiative and actively participate in or coach different projects
The suitable candidate finds leadership interesting and has the interest and ability to grow long term with Volvo
The position includes travelling
Responsibilities:
Purchase of parts and components in accordance with defined strategies
Plan and perform sourcing, negotiations, requisition handling and ordering
Implementing strategies and cost savings activities
Drive commercial and technical rationalizations
Support projects, in-house and at internal customers
Utilize the benefit of co-operation with other Volvo Group companies
Manage day-to-day operations within quality, projects, cost reductions, delivery and supplier relations
