Vehicle and Systems Testing is a department within Volvo Car Group R&D. Our main purpose is to operate and develop the departments test beds. Our responsible is to provide R&D with test beds and test equipment in accordance with Volvo Car Group R&D needs.
The group Test preparation & Methodology is responsible to prepare and automate test processes within V&ST, quality assurance of data, test method development, correlation activities, and support to engine test bed engineers.
As Engine Test System Development Engineer, you are responsible for leading the work with automation of tests in our system test beds. Your challenge is to develop, program and implement standardized and automated test processes in system test beds. You will work in cross functional teams with other groups within the Laboratory and with our internal customers at R&D. Your technical competence, as well as your ability to manage projects, should be strong. Your mindset should be analytic and with an aim of finding solutions.
Main responsibilities
• Responsible for standardising and implementing automated test processes in system test beds
• Plan and manage test automation activities through a cross functional team
• Develop test automation workflow and activities within the system testing area
• Document automated test processes and involve necessary stakeholders to gather required inputs
• Together with engine engineers develop test methods describing the test procedure and the demands on data delivery for specific engine development programs
Required qualifications
• M. Sc. within the areas of Mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience in engine testing and/or engine development
• Good knowledge in Matlab, VBA and Tcl scripting
• Knowledge in test bed systems supplied by Horiba, AVL, Comtest and Kratzer is meritorious
• Fluent in English, spoken and written

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Self driven and high sense of responsibility to deliver results on time
