At Information & Technology (Volvo Car Group IT), you will work in close collaboration with colleagues in other business units around the world. You and your team create IT services that support the company's overall business development and daily operations. Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) is responsible for all IT infrastructure within Volvo Car Group globally and a key component of Service Delivery & Operations within Group IT.
One important part of IMS is End User Services (EUS) with Service Offerings around the user's workplace or the platform for user support. Key components within these services are amongst others; Service Desk, Onsite Support, ITSM Platform, Knowledge Management, Digital Workplace HW/SW Services, Print Services, VDI-Services, Unified Communications, PC-applications and some O365 services. The team channels demand from various business areas and interacts daily with both business and IT Stakeholders to capture todays and tomorrows needs and guide these needs from design phases towards global solutions in full operation.
As an EUS Engineer/Technology Manager you will work together with the EUS team to create both short and long term plans on a tactical level for best-of-breed technology solutions for IT end users at Volvo Car Group. This includes not only solutions for traditional PC computing, but also solutions for new service areas like BYOD, Cloud Computing, Mobility, Virtualisation and Automation. You are responsible for defining the high level design, governing the operation and improvement of services enabling the end user within Volvo Car Group to better integrate to the computing environment.
Main responsibilities
• Work in close cooperation with our IT infrastructure services outsourcing partner
• Realise defined plans through projects and other type of assignments
• Take an active part in internal IT projects and discussions to represent the EUS team
• Assist our team to the higher levels of high performance and efficiency
• Look for business value and look out for the best for Volvo Car Group in everything we do
• Perform business demand meetings for gathering of needs/requirements
• Fuel future serviceplanning together with Service Owners
• Enable international collaboration with the global community
• Be the go-to-person in the engagement of IT Infrastructure services space
• Keep track of deviations and secure that they are handled properly and timely
Required qualifications
• IT or Technical degree
• Technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields: Systems Management, Desktop Virtualisation, Asset and Hardware Life Cycle Management, Application Packaging and Virtualization, Mobile Device Management
• Technical skills and understanding of Microsoft, VMware and Cisco products, MDM and Desktop Virtualization solutions as well as consumer IT products
• Good understanding of IT Operation, Service Design and Service Transition
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Experience in Supplier Management of outsourced services is meritorious
• Project Management experience would be an asset
