Vehicle Connectivity is one of the most interesting areas within Automotive right now and considered core technology area for new transportation services. In a world where data is the most valuable commodity Volvo is pushing hard to provide the best quality and accurate data. To enable new services, transform transport industry, as well as increase uptime, it is crucial to participate in this development. Vehicle Connectivity (VeCon) at Volvo today have several SW-teams working in parallel to develop a platform which will allow more flexible and future ready data collection as well as an Infotainment platform of the future.
THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
We in the Test Automation & Verification Framework group at VeCon are working hard to establish a reliable verification and validation framework that enables continuous delivery of the systems developed at Vehicle Connectivity. We are also responsible for the test automation at the different levels of the verification chain for VeCon products.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
You will join our Continuous Delivery Platform team; a team that today consists of four other developers that create a platform with back- and frontend solutions. This is a fairly new initiative where you have the possibility to influence the decisions that will be taken.
Our Continuous Delivery Platform is a business intelligence system that enables the organization to get a full overview of how different products are evolving from build, through test, to release. The platform is designed to present data based on different roles in the organization in order to make decision making based on facts.
You will assist in breaking down the requirements and defining how the solution shall be implemented. You will implement backend services that can be communicated with over Rest API and/or event driven communication. And you will deploy the services and make sure that they operate as designed, debugging if needed.

WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for a team player that is social and self-driven. We believe you have a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar background. Since our working language is English we need you to be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
You have worked with Continuous Integration and/or Continuous Deployment and it is meriting but not a must if you have SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience.
We believe it would be profitable if you have knowledge within:
Python3
Rest API Frameworks (e.g. Falcon)
SQL Databases
Working with SQL ORM (e.g. SQLAlchemy for Python)
Understanding of networking and network sockets
Understanding of Multi- threaded / Multi- processing software
Working in Linux- environment
It is not a must but nice if you have:
Docker experience
NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB)
Data streaming services (e.g. ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ)
Micro Service Architecture
Data Science
Frontend knowledge (TypeScript & VueJS)
