Electrical and Thermal Simulation Engineer
As Electrical and Thermal Simulation Engineer at Traction Batteries, you will develop simulation methods within the electrical, EMC, control and thermal area for traction batteries and see to that the models are validated. You will utilize the methods developed in the increasing number of battery electric and hybrid vehicle projects.
We at PES (Propulsion Energy Systems) are now investing heavily in developing our analysis operations for traction batteries in terms of simulations and through developing our new battery lab. The analyses of traction batteries grow fast and challenges both VCC, battery suppliers and our OEM competitors.
Your responsibilities as First Simulation Engineer will include development of 1-D and 3-D simulation methods for thermal, electrical, EMC, and control simulations of batteries in close cooperation with design and simulations engineers both internally and from other departments like durability and safety. You will also interact with colleagues, at other units within R&D or external companies and organizations.
Main responsibilities
* Develop 1-D and 3-D simulation methods for thermal, electrical, EMC and control simulations of HV traction batteries
* Initiate tests and analyse results for validation of simulation methods developed
* Utilize the above to dimension traction batteries
* Create technical documentation including reports
* Coordinate external work e.g. with suppliers
Required qualifications
* Master degree in Engineering with focus on simulations
* Strong analytic abilities, since job requires ingenuity and creativity
* 3-5 years of experience from advanced simulations, preferably CFD
* Documented experience with Mathlab, preferably also CST and Comsol tools, but also 3D tool for e.g. CFD or FEM are meritorious
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver 's license B

* Good communication skills
* Result oriented with a structured way of working
* Able to act independently as well as to cooperate within a team
* Broad vehicle interest and knowledge, especially in vehicle electrification
