Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfil the following role in our Tox- and Ecotox Support team in Stenungsund, Sweden. The team is part of the Sustainability & Regulatory Affairs department and supports AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry Businesses, RD&I and Operations in regulatory and product development activities. We work with a broad product and market range to comply with global regulations under constant development, meaning a wide variety of innovative tasks. Our aim is to contribute to a sustainable product portfolio.
The main tasks and responsibilities are:
• Be the BU SC expert in the field of ecotoxicology and provide internal support to the Product Regulatory Specialists, the Business Segments, the Sites and RD&I.
• Advice upon, coordinate and monitor environmental information requirements and tests e.g. for REACH and other regulatory purposes as well as for research purposes in the development of new products and markets.
• Perform and contribute to development of registration dossiers, exposure and risk assessments.
• Contribute to environmental and ecotox research projects run by SC Businesses and RD&I departments.
• Represent AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry in external organizations in order to monitor emerging environmental requirements and the development of alternative test methods and strategies.
• Contribute to communications with authorities.
Requirements
We are looking for an individual with a PhD degree within ecotoxicology/environmental science with minimum of 5 years of experience in ecotoxicology, risk assessment of chemicals or regulatory work. Excellent written and spoken English and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience of work in expert task forces and industry groups or trade associations is an advantage.
To be successful in this position you must understand the legal requirements and have a keen interest to collaborate with our stakeholders. You are goal oriented, flexible and enjoy solving problems in a creative way. As this is a global organization it is important that you can work independently as well as within a group, you are self going and have a willingness to get things done.
