Volvo Penta Purchasing Organization is a Global Organization with employees in Sweden, US, India and China. The last years we have expanded in order to manage new Projects and Technologies, and to create a Sustainable supply chain. To further strengthen our organization, we are now hiring a Director International Purchasing.
Position description
Right now, we can offer a great opportunity as Director International Purchasing with the mission to drive the strategic development of assigned Volvo Penta Purchasing's teams globally. In addition, this role will challenge and drive the necessary change in the Volvo Penta transformation from existing Technology to a future sustainable technology.
As a Director International Purchasing you and your team will have the responsibility of the suppliers in the assigned areas. Today the responsibility covers the Purchasing teams in US, India and China. You will be part of the Volvo Penta Purchasing management team and will work closely together with the international teams.

By being an active member in the Purchasing Management team, leading assigned strategic activities, reporting to VP Purchasing, you will have good possibilities to make a difference.
You will plan, lead & develop site strategies and organizational set up for assigned areas. When it comes to way of working, it will be important to further develop the collaboration and cross-functional work to find synergies, within Penta and in the Volvo Group.
Your role will be important for the planning and preparation of the Volvo Penta transformation into new technologies. Both in the people area (resources, competence and culture) and in the business with our suppliers.
The Director International Purchasing has a lot of possibilities to influence the Volvo Penta business and profitability through:
Lead implementation of Strategic activities according to commodity strategies
Secure a supplier base that meet the future challenges and explore sourcing possibilities in assigned areas
Proactive scanning for new suppliers and technology
Maintaining and improving existing supplier relations
In this position you will have the world as your workplace, even is located in Gothenburg, regular presence at sites within the scope of International purchasing will be a natural part of this job. You will also represent Purchasing in strategic dialogs and foras in the site management teams.

The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and will require frequent travel.
