We are looking for a DSP Engineer whose role is to participate in the signal processing development of Cochlear BAS Sound Processors and to ensure non-regression of the functionalities. The tasks consist of gathering information about features to be implemented at an early stage and ensure development of the targeted Digital Signal Processor (DSP) in order to meet the defined specifications and required regulations. This includes simulation/development of high quality and optimal solutions of the DSP in relation to software development, test and verification teams.
Accountabilities and associated responsibilities
In this role You are participating in the development process focusing on the digital signal processing development of the defined features.
To provide input for feasibility, planning and conception of new features and participate in the technical design.
• Member of the project team and responsible for the embedded software.
• Identify problems and suggest/implement solutions.
• Participate in the improvement of the development environment.
• Document all features before undertaking development.
• Ensure that regulatory and quality requirements, defined for the verification phase, are met.
• Ensure technical support around DSP.
Apart from above you will also have close collaboration with DSP algorithm and code suppliers and other system development team members to ensure up-to-date communication between DSP and host PC. Give input and ideas to the test and validation team.
Profile
You have a solid understanding of audio and acoustic signal processing, methods and tools that are appropriate for the development of implantable medical devices and/ or experience from working in a regulatory controlled enviroment.
• University degree in science or engineering, preferably Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience of developing in Simulink/Matlab.
• Experience of documenting your work through reports and descriptions.
As a person you are characterized by initiative, cooperation and problem solving skills. The quality in your work is always in focus and your strategic and analytical skills are excellent. You are a good communicator and fluent in both written and spoken English.
