We provide beauty and protection to wood products such as windows, doors, cabinet, floors and furniture's. In Sweden we have approximately 300 employees at our office and production site in Sege/Malmö. The Colour Team within Wood Coatings is responsible for ownership of technology platforms and large development projects. The working group holds the responsibility for development of colour matching in different technologies and stain development, this done in close cooperation with our Colour lab in Germany.Main responsibilitiesAre you ready to make an impact of our business and add value to our customers? To our Colour Group Team of five we are now looking for a Development Engineer within the segment of colour matching in translucent as opaque systems. You will be reporting to Manager in R&D Colour Group.The daily work is taking place in both the laboratory and in the Technical Application Center where full scale application machinery is used to simulate customer processes. We work according to lab standard 14 (incl. ISO 9001, 14001) and according to 5S standard. The role involves discussing project needs, setting up, planning and executing experiments, analysis and formulations work. You will be part of and lead small or medium sized projects. The role includes travelling and you will spend some of your time visiting customers throughout Europe associated with customer related projects. Your main responsibilities will include:- Colour matching- Technical support to customers, Sales technicians, Production and Suppliers in both Sweden and rest of Europe- Communicate and update system in relation to changes to internal and external Stakeholders- Follow the AkzoNobel safety rulesJob requirements/Candidate profileTo be successful in this position you need to have good cooperation skills and social competence. You are a self-starter with the ability to operate independently and proactively, giving consistent and stable performance. You are able to foster effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts. Preferable you are a chemical engineer or a technichans within chemicals. You are well experienced as a Lab Technician. It is a must that you have good color vision. You are skillfull in Microsoft Word and Excel. You have excellent command of Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
