What you will do

As a development engineer, within the field optical sensor systems, you will explore the functionality and strive to fully understand the behavior of optical fingerprint CMOS sensors. You will also be part of developing new top notch test systems for the smartphone industry. You will belong to a small and dedicated team, with the responsibility to develop FPC's new optical in-display solutions.

You and your closest colleagues will make sure that fingerprint sensor products developed and manufactured by FPC, meet the agreed performance specification. To achieve this, you specify test criteria's and support the SW tools development, both on lower product levels and on full phone assembly level. You also take an active role in specifying test functionality and other blocks to be integrated in new customized image sensors (CIS), developed by FPC.

Your tasks may range from identifying and analyzing new and improved imaging sensors, optimizing settings, translating CIS functionality into biometric performance. You will also be part of verifying new product concepts, supporting product industrialization, or submitting new inventions for patent filing.

Who you are

• You have a master's degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent
• You have a keen interest in imaging sensors and their functionality, as well as the surrounding optics
• Relevant occupational experience from production test development is preferred
• You have knowledge in Python and NumPy or similar tools
• Experience in SW development is advantageous (C, C#, Jira and Gerrit)
• You are a true team player with a problem-solving attitude
• You are curious and open to learn new things
• You bring your ideas and willingly share your knowledge with others
• You are able to drive assignments independently and to self-manage priorities
• You are fluent in spoken and written English and are flexible when it comes to international traveling
