Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions. Our values - customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste - are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

Role Summary
We are now looking for a Design Engineer to our Propeller Shaft Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore your technical interests while contributing to a global mission within the TRATON R&D Group. You'll be part of a supportive team, with a mentor to guide you, and the chance to make a significant impact on the development of Propeller Shaft used worldwide in the TRATON Group.
Job Responsibilities
• You will work with "Design and Installation of Propeller Shaft" for both conventional and electric vehicles within the TRATON Group.
• As a Design Engineer you will be a member in a VCT-Team and work in a value flow to develop components with high customer value.
• You will collaborate with engineers, procurement teams, and global brands to ensure seamless integration of products.
• You will be a part of the team to develop the future Propeller Shaft Program and secure function and robustness of your components and sub-system with respect to weight, cost manufacturability and mountability.
• You will use CAD/Catia in your daily work with design and analysis.
• As your tasks will range from problem analysis to problem solving, you need to be a good communicator and team player.
• Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who You Are
We are seeking a self-motivated designer who is eager to learn and capable of working independently. Ideally, you have a technical background with expertise in forging, bearings, and installation processes. Your curiosity and interest in technology drive your understanding of product lifecycles and technical solutions.
You are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders. Emotional stability is crucial, and you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Effective change management is essential for this role.

Your analytical skills enable you to interpret relevant data and identify optimal solutions. However, maintaining a broad perspective and not getting lost in details is key to your success in this position.

Further this role requires a willingness to work on-site in Södertälje, with flexibility for remote work up to 2 days per week, when the work allows.
Proficiency in Catia and/or familiarity with Scania's systems will be seen as meriting.

Scania Offers
We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, Scania supports your career growth both locally and internationally.

Benefits include training at our health center Gröndal or wellness allowance, result bonus, flexible hours, and company car leasing. Scania also hosts events for employees and their families, and Stockholm residents enjoy direct access to Södertälje via Scania Job express buses.

Application
Your application should include a CV and any relevant certificates. We welcome all applicants and strive for diversity in our recruitment processes.
Apply as soon as possible, no later than 2025-02-18. Screening will take place on an ongoing basis during the application period. Logical and personality tests may be used as part of the selection process, and a background check may be required for this role.
