The group Engine Transmission belongs to Base Engine Development at Volvo Car Corporation. The group's main purpose is to develop FEAD, CAM and Decoupler/TVD systems for Volvo Engines for various projects. As we are part of a global organisation we have development center in China and also manufacturing sites in China with which we interact daily. We run the complete development from concept to industrialisation. To also challenging our existing products for quality and cost improvement are essential tasks.
As a Design Engineer you will design and develop the engine transmissions of the FEAD systems and run your components through various programs. The challenge in this role is to create a user-friendly component for manufacturing and assembly with high technical qualifications to a competitive price. You will partly design and partly manage the projects and you are going to have a direct influence on customer satisfaction.
Main responsibilities
• Design component and system in CATIA
• Run and participate in cross functional teams both within Volvo Cars and external partners
• Secure and manage deliveries in time by good planning
• In cooperation with Senior Engineer and Concept Lead secure quality and cost
• In cooperation with our Engine plants secure the optimised product
• Report project status to Senior Engineer and Lead Engineer as well to Base Engine Management
Required qualifications
• Master/Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent experience
• Project experience
• Experienced in CATIA V5 and good knowledge in MS office
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Meritorious is experience from FEAD-systems
Personal qualities
• Good communication and team working skills
• Structural behavior and good driving force
• Open minded with a positive attitude
