Swedish House of Finance is looking for a Data Scientist and Head of Research Analysts

The Swedish House of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics is Sweden's national research center in financial economics.

It hosts internationally distinguished researchers and enables financial research and development of highest quality.

The center serves as an independent platform where academia, the private and public financial sector, can exchange knowledge, foster new ideas, and gain access to a global network of the most prominent researchers in finance.

The Swedish House of Finance is an equally private and government funded, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. It hosts approximately 70 researchers, consisting of permanent and affiliated professors as well as PhD students.

The Stockholm School of Economics is ranked as the top business school in the Nordic and Baltic countries and enjoys a strong international reputation.

Job description

As a Data Scientist and Head of Research Analysts, you will be working on cutting-edge research projects in such areas of finance as household finance, behavioral finance, corporate finance, and asset pricing finance. You will also work in close contact with the researchers at SHoF and the SSE Finance Department.

We are looking for someone who is highly skilled and motivated with data analysis and has strong interest in empirical projects.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Development, implementation and distribution of new data sets
- Process and analyze microdata for research projects
- Assist faculty in research related tasks
- Manage and manipulate data using requested packages, STATA or MATLAB
- Provide statistical analysis and design for reports and presentations
- Supervision and coordination of other research analysts

Qualifications

- Has a strong interest in finance and wants to further develop her/his knowledge within this area
- Has at least two years of research analyst/assistant experience in universities or research institutions
- Is accurate, detailed and responsive both in research and coordination work
- Has exceptional spoken and written language skills in English
- Has a university degree in finance or economics
- Is proactive in detecting and carrying out work tasks
- Has solid knowledge of statistical analysis software, preferred to be STATA, enabling advanced data management and analysis
- Familiar with datasets in Statistics Sweden's micro-data register
- Experience with using the Microdata Online Access (MONA) tool is a plus
