We are the world's original and largest oat drink company. For over 25 years, we have exclusively focused on developing expertise around oats: a global power crop with inherent properties suited for sustainability and human health. Our commitment to oats has resulted in core technical advancements that enabled us to unlock the breadth of the dairy portfolio, including alternatives to milks, ice cream, yogurt, cooking creams, and spreads. Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, the Oatly brand is available in more than 20 countries globally.
THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN
You?? Yes! You. Our Business Technology department needs your data engineering skills. The sustainability revolution isn't going to happen by itself, we need all the help we can get. So if making the world a more sustainable place and trying to avert climate catastrophe is the kind of thing that gets you up in the morning, then read on!
As a Data Engineer in our Analytics team you will have a central role in Oatly's digitalization journey and help enabling the organization to take informed and data driven decisions. The team is transforming data into insightful and actionable business information by collecting, processing, analyzing and visualizing data. You will work closely with data analysts, architects and data scientists to design, develop and implement data solutions for all the corners of Oatly, in all corners of the world.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This is a wonderful opportunity for a Data Engineer to get in the game and be part of a modern analytics team. As a Data Engineer you will:
• Join a modern data team where the latest technology (Microsoft Azure, Delta Lake, Azure Databricks, DBT, to mention a few) is used to give Oatly a competitive edge and to become a global leader in Oatbase products.
• You will be part of a highly motivated team who has end to end responsibly for Oatlys global data services.
• You take part in interaction with business partners, end-users and management to ensure best-practices is followed .
But, you know. These are just the things we can think of right now! This might be the job today, but tomorrow brings more change, so being light on your feet and willing to embrace the unknown is a verrrrrry big help.
YOU, YOU, YOU
You are a curious, communicative and committed professional with an (agile) delivery mindset. You see the big picture as well as the details. Being a team-player, interested in building something new in an everchanging environment will be very helpful in this role.
In you we believe we will find a structured and analytical problem-solver with a great drive. You are thinking about the big picture, rather than the job description bullet points, and are prioritizing doing things for real rather than creating a perfect plan that never sees the light of day (even it is a very pretty plan).
We think your oatsomeness is built upon..
• 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (or comparable position)
• At least one year of experience from software development in a modern language
• Experience processing data using Python or Scala (obviously highly skilled in SQL)
• Experience using Microsoft Azure
• A burning curiosity and interest in data, fast data, big data, data governance, data models, data warehouse, data insights - or all of the above, or more!
• Working proficiency and communication skills, verbal and written, in English
Bonus points if you have...
• Experience in some or all of the following technologies; Spark, Azure Databricks, DBT, Airflow
• Experience of modern ways of transforming datasets leveraging automated tests, source control (GIT), CI/CD
• Experience from developing data catalogue and self-service BI
• Zero experience of working with SSIS
Finally, we hope that you share our values and have a great interest to carry out our mission in order to make the world a little bit better.
JOIN US!
We welcome people from all backgrounds who see sustainability and health as important values. If you have the curiosity, passion and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's do this together! It will be fun! Promise!
This is an ongoing process, so send your application as soon as possible, and no later than 2023-03-02.
