Right now the Global Transport and packaging department is looking for a Customs specialist & Transport Purchaser.
The department is part of the division Mining and Rock Excavation Service (MRS) Supply Chain department and is localized at the three distribution centers (Allen, Örebro and Nanjing). You will be part of this global team and report to Global Transport and Packaging Manager who is localized in Allen, US, but you will be localized in Örebro, Sweden. The Transport team in Örebro consist of four members and since one of the team members has decided to move on to another position within Atlas Copco we are now looking for a new team member.
The Global Transportation and Packaging group supports a culture of "can-do" and driving business performance through Supply Chain within the Transportation & Packaging team and the MRS organization to facilitate our actions and behaviors to increase customer satisfaction. We will continuously develop the MRS Supply Chain to be a state of the art global logistic provider, developing a high performing, qualitative and cost efficient business and Supply Chain for our customers.
Position objective
Local responsibility for adhering to customs processes and is an expert assisting MRS with a focus and priority on Atlas Copco Rock Drills to always be Trade Compliant, locally as well as supporting globally as needed. In addition, being part of the Transport team, a portion of your time will be spent on Global Freight Purchasing.
Mission
The mission of the role is to promote the most compliant and high performing customs solutions and to assist in developing a world class model for these solutions and activities. Further, you will work with forwarders as assigned negotiating the cheapest possible freight cost for the desired level of service needed in and out of Atlas Copco Rock Drills as required.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Support MR Trade Compliance Project Manager in common global Trade and Customs processes across the organization by helping map, document and developing new ways of working. Provide examples for increased business results by securing lowest total supplied cost.
• Support Customs processes that includes
o knowledge of legal demands
o government regulations
o KPI's
o new business opportunities
• Recommend and help implement IT System/Tools.
• Represent the MRS division and Rock Drills in the Customs Council and Global Freight Council as required.
• Evaluate and support in nominating Customs service providers.
• Support Buyer/Planners with any non-trade conforming suppliers.
• Inform and educate in compliance requirements and Trade Agreements throughout the organization.
• Support those responsible towards the accuracy of master data.
• Contribute to the success of the team and understand/support the colleagues in daily work
• Evaluate and nominate forwarders and transport service providers to achieve the best balance between Service, performance, quality and price focusing on lowest total Supply Chain cost
• Global / local negotiations and contract work process and closure
• Local Customer Center (CC) transport solution support
• Supplier and transport performance and cost follow up
• Attend transport provider Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR's) as needed

The position is located in Örebro, Sweden.
Education and experience
• Competence and experience from transport purchase, negotiation and contractual law is a benefit
• Experience from project management is considered a benefit
• Knowledge regarding Customs regulations are an asset
• Professional level of English, both spoken and written
• Other languages (Chinese, Swedish etc) is considered a benefit
• University degree in Economics, Logistics, and / or 5+ years equivalent experience considered
Personality requirements
The successful candidate is result oriented with a positive attitude, proactive and a self-starter but also a team player. You have strong communication and negotiation skills. You are used to work with processes and rules and is the one in the organization who will argument for the importance of them. An organized and structured way of working is vital. Due to the global way of working, we expect you to be prepared to travel domestic and oversea.
Mining and Rock Excavation Service is a division within Atlas Copco's Mining and Rock Excavation Technique business area. It provides a complete range of services with the aim of maximizing customers' productivity. The division focuses on spare parts supply, professional service, support solutions and training. It has distribution centers in China, Sweden and the United States, and is based in Sweden.
