Your role
You will be responsible for complex systems and/or products of mechanical and/or climatic character. You will be part of the Contract Development team and report to the manager of Mechanical Architectures, all within the Mechanical & Cabling organization at Engineering. In our development teams, all members contribute with their individual experiences and skills to create an effective and dynamic environment. You are expected not only to work with your individual product area of responsibility - being a member of the Contract Development team also means that you interact and take part in your teams' challenges.

The main tasks are:

represent Development in the Procurement Team (RFQ and supplier selection)
*
collect the technical requirements of the product/service
*
put together the technical information in RFI/RFQ
*
coordinate and perform technical evaluation of offers
*
create the Statement of Work together with parties concerned
*
coordinate supervision activities and technical reviews
*
ensure that quality and function are obtained according to requirements
*
ensure proper configuration management of the outcome
Above means that you will be responsible for detailed activities such as; compile technical strategy for product area, confirm technical work scope, establish technical requirements, evaluate technical aspects, finalize and store documentation, plan and lead technical supervision activities, prepare technical RFQ documentation, supervise technical progress, and similar.
Both domestic and international travels are often occurring.

Required skills:

Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline

extensive knowledge and understanding of product development in the area concerned

Fluent in both written and spoken technical English

Used to managing requirements and testing activities

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Business Unit Radar Solutions within Surveillance has around 1300 employees globally. Radar Solutions provides airborne, ground-based and naval radar solutions to the world market.
We are now forming a new Engineering organization with very exciting prospects and challenges and we sincerely hope you want to join us on this thrilling journey!
At Engineering, we have design responsibility for all levels of subsystems for our radar portfolio in areas such as microwaves and antennas, digital functions, software development, printed circuit boards, producibility, mechanical design, power electronics, cabling, computer systems etc.
We are responsible for deliveries in time at agreed cost to our projects, as well as meeting our cost targets for development and manufacturing. Engineering has around 700 employees.
The Mechanical & Cabling Design organization within Engineering is design responsible for the mechanical and cabling parts of our product portfolio. The department has around 75 employees in Gothenburg.
