Job description
This is a an exciting new role for our equipment business and has been created to manage assigned electrical and mechanical commodities, as well as interface with the local R&D group in Gothenburg on New Product Development teams. Having the legal right to live and work in Gothenburg, Sweden is essential. Please ensure you attach a CV if interested in our opportunity.

You will manage 20-30 different commodities and one of your first key objectives will be to lead a cost savings project for these products: so review lead times, suppliers, and pricing to name but a few. Your other key objective will be new product support. Our new Commodity Manager will own the supplier relationship: you determine where we buy our products from and what the commercial terms will be such as price, lead time, order quantity and payment terms. Quite a responsibility, huh?
You can appreciate we're looking for an A-player for this role. Someone who has proven experience with electro/mechanics purchasing/procurement/commodities within the industrial arena, but medium-lower volume.

We're all about welding and gas cutting so having this experience is pretty important. Having a degree in engineering will also help, but what's more important is your technical knowledge, along with demonstrated new product experience (sitting on NP teams). You're probably sitting within the heavy industrial or aerospace arena with Commodity Manager experience reading this right now!

You'll be a technical person: so come prepared to dazzle us with your technical know-how at your interview. You may currently hold a job title like Commodity Manager, Sourcing Specialist, Sourcing Lead/Leader, and Procurement Buyer/Leader. We think you get the idea.

We have a lot of highly skilled, intelligent, and opinionated stakeholders when it comes to our products and business; so you'll need to be skilled at listening (and that includes asking the right questions) to what the stakeholders want and translate engineer, marketing, product, sales and manufacturing "speak" to work strategically to deliver what's right for our business overall. Black belt communication and influencing skills are a must.

It's a truly strategic, but hands on role. You have the chance to truly impact our business. The future of our company is new products, and you will decide where we are going to buy these new products that are going to shape our future.

We could throw a lot of bullet points at you and list a long line of responsibilities, but true talent won't be inspired by this. This wonderfully engaging job post is more "your thing".
If this sounds like you, then please ensure you include your CV with your application.
