At Indirect Purchasing Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) we purchases supplies, spare parts and maintenance services to our factories and R&D pilot plant in Sweden and Belgium. This includes articles such as personal protection, cutting tools, hand tools, abrasives and spare parts for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic machinery and equipment. We maintain and develop the supplier base, negotiates agreements and lay strategies for purchasing and commercial arrangements. The team consists of 8 people, each responsible for their own commodity.
As a Commodity Buyer you will be responsible for the commodities chemicals, oils, gas and other metal and non-metal raw material to our plants in Europe. You work in close collaboration with the factories to develop the supplier base and optimise cost with the total cost of ownership in mind. It is your responsibility to develop your commodity and its strategy, with some operational responsibilities. You may also participate in global strategic sourcing within your areas.
Main responsibilities
• Build, develop and maintain competitive supplier strategies and commodity business plans
• Carry out market analysis and benchmarking studies and make sourcing based on RFI/RFQ
• Implement and develop a total cost of ownership approach with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiation with suppliers within MRO
• Contribute in big bang projects (procurement process development, cost reduction projects)
• Daily contact with stakeholders around the needs for goods and material
• Place orders above a certain limit and resolve daily issues
Required qualifications
• Bachelor degree or equivalent, Technical or Financial
• Experience from purchasing with responsibility for a commodity
• Experience from negotiations, benchmarking and strategic sourcing
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Good legal knowledge and understanding of contractual purchasing Terms & Conditions
• Knowledge within chemicals and oils, manufacturing processes and maintenance and their cost drivers is meritorious
