Ericsson Research Cloud System and Software Technologies
Research Area Cloud System and Software Technologies focuses on concepts that are two to ten years ahead of the state of the art. Our mission is to push the limits of cloud and software, secure strategic IPR and support Ericsson's future direction.
We are currently pushing the state of the art in areas such cloud for 5G, distributed cloud, cloud for internet of things and next generation datacenters. Our daily work includes advanced research, prototype generation, patent and IPR generation, external collaborations and supporting the Ericsson organization through articulating and influencing technology strategy.
Purpose of Job Role
Build and transfer technology competence to ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by:
Developing novel concepts, solutions and algorithms as well as protecting them with IPR
Presenting prototypes, concept demonstrations and publications.
Introducing solutions into product development
Contributing to Ericsson technology strategy
Generating re-usable software
Driving standardization
Job-Role Competences
Ability to do innovation
Ability to take ownership and drive concepts in an exploratory environment
Ability to simplify the complex and clearly communicate advanced concepts
Ability to work in a team and a capability to influence people in a flat organization
Ability to act in external relations and standardization

Ability to perform studies and reports
Ability to develop IPR and innovation
Ability to develop prototypes, simulators, demonstrators and test-beds
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Excellent written English, Good oral English
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant work experience - including technology startup, full time industry experience or as researcher in a lab
Experience with software development and software development methodology
Experience in cloud, distributed systems, internet of things, industrial IT, and/or datacenters
Experience in developing patents and other IPR
Experience in contributing to research communities, including conference papers and other research publications
Experience in contributing to Open Source or leading Open Source projects
Licensiate or PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical field
