hela Sverige You will be part of FACTS business unit within the Power Grids division. FACTS technology enables power systems owners to increase the capacity of their existing power systems, while improving electrical stability at the same time. The end result is that more electrical power can reach consumers with minimal environment impact after shorter project times and at lower investment costs. This pioneering technology is developed at the FACTS unit in Västerås and sold to customers worldwide.
Civil Works is a major part of FACTS Turnkey projects, representing up to 40% of the total volume. As a member of ABB FACTS, you will take responsibility for cost estimation during tenders and support in the execution phase. In addition, as the Civil Expert, you contribute with your expertise with technical and risk assessments, purchase and follow up of civil works and civil design.
You are a part of the Field Operations team (Civil Works, Installation and Commissioning) consisting of approx. 20 employees. You act as the link between other FACTS engineering departments and the civil designer/contractor all over the world. This means working in an international environment, with the opportunity to experience several different cultures, as well as being a crucial part of a market with strong growth potential.
You hold a university degree and have civil expertise from previous work experience as a civil engineer. Site management experience is an advantage, but most importantly, you are result-focused, good at organizing, prioritizing, you believe in collaboration and know that communication is the key to success.
As you will be working in a growing global market, the position includes supporting ABB colleagues globally. This includes travelling to different destinations around the world (approximately 5 days a month on average). In order to succeed in this role, fluency in English is a must, both written and spoken alike. Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is a plus.
