Position description
As Business Development Manager (BDM) you will be responsible for developing the sales for industrial power system products through our market units and area sales managers. You will belong to a team of five persons whereof two are BDMs. Main geographical responsibility will be the western part of our region. The position is based in Gothenburg and involves frequent long- and short-distance travelling.
Region Emerging Markets, Asia and Pacific was established in 2012 and is responsible for marketing and sales of the complete range of Volvo Penta products including Parts and accessories via its market units and private importers within Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Oceania and the Pacific Basin. In the Industrial Business Segment within Marketing & Sales you will be working with some of the most interesting and inspiring countries, cultures and persons in the world.
Main responsibilities
• Prospect new high potential or strategically important customers
• Contribute to and implement the Industrial segment strategy on market level
• Support the sales organisation with competitor, market and product information
• Support the sales organisation through new customer development process
• Initiate and participate in development of tools and activities supporting the sales force
• Coordinate larger sales projects and visit important markets and customers
• Coordinate and support sales engineering tasks
• Participate in the global price work and implement within our region
• Support during customer visits to Sweden

Qualifications
• High level of experience of the Industrial Business segment
• Ability to work independently
• A strong business acumen
• University degree in Business administration and/or Engineering
• Proven communication and networking skills
• Experience of industrial engine and/or off-road machinery business
• Basic understanding and interest in diesel engines
• Interest for different cultures and working in an international environment
• Fully proficient in English, verbal and writing
• Arabic, Russian and Turkish are considered as additional qualification
• Strong general computer skills and excellent skills in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel
