Business Analyst - Global Quality

Location: UK (Macclesfield), Sweden (Gartuna), US (Wilmington, Gaithersburg)

3 year Secondment / Fixed Term Contract

The role of Business Analyst sits within our Global Operations Quality team, this team ensures the delivery of safe, effective and compliant medicines to patients - setting standards and applying scientific and technical expertise across the world to maintain our reputation and license to operate.

Global Quality are valued partners in all parts of the life cycle of an AstraZeneca medicine, from development through commercial manufacture to marketing and distribution giving a broad platform on which to operate. They also use their experience externally, being well respected as external advocates in the regulatory environment and work with industry colleagues to shape new and changing regulations.

You will be joining us at the start of an exciting Modern Data Warehouse initiative which will revolutionise our Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics and the way we report across Global Operations. The programme will enable us to leverage cutting edge Business Intelligence technology to support in driving focused performance improvement through predictive data analytics, modelling and reporting.

This role will require an understanding of IT Landscapes and IT architecture as well as data warehousing and big data.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking business needs identification including assessing and defining business needs for the project. You will be responsible for deciding on the analysis approach and be responsible for scoping and recommending approaches.

You will be responsible and accountable for requirements management plans including approvals, processes, RAID logs and scope impacts and you will need to be highly responsive to changing business priorities with the ability to plan ahead account for potential changes and implement and required corrective actions.

You will be a key partner to support the shaping and defining of the business cases providing detailed business justification for solutions and any investment required.

You will be highly proficient in analysing and assessing solution proposals and be able to articulate to a range of stakeholders your rationale and supporting arguments.

This is a key role in the project and you will need to be able to be a key interface between IT and the project ensuring that the business context of solutions is understood and translated effectively.

Essential Requirements

* Degree in a Scientific, Computing or Mathematics subject (equivalent experience will be considered
* Strong business analysis experience - experience of working on projects which include IT landscape solutions
* Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and understanding of the business context for programmes
* Understanding of IT Architecture, Big Data and Data Warehousing
