Customized solutions for trucks are an important and growing area where Scania aims to fulfill specific customer demands and to enter new segments and markets. With the increased number of projects and initiatives affecting the brake system, we see a need to increase our capability in the development of brake systems and function, especially within the area of custom-made solutions.
Our group, Brake Function, is involved from concept development to realisation, including testing and verification in the vehicle. Our responsibilities cover functions that play a significant role in safety, stability, driveability, and brake performance.
The team members have deep knowledge and experience within the brake system and consist of both engineers and mechanics.
Your role
As a developer within brake systems and functions, you will together with a team of experienced colleagues develop, test, and validate the EBS/ABS systems on Scania trucks and buses.
You will take the main responsibility for running the assignments connected to the area of specialized customer solutions. This will require both a structured mind and a big chunk of creativity. You will also take part in the general brake development.
Special vehicles consist of smaller production series that are tailor-made to specific customer demands. These vehicles are based on our general configurations but changed in ways that often require updated functionality in the brake system. You will work closely together with several cross functions within the organisation to make these assignments happen.
You will contribute to developing/delivering brake systems and functions for unique customer solutions. This involves:
• Perform testing on complete vehicles on the Scania test track, as well as going to winter test and test tracks at our brake system suppliers.
• Analyse and document test results.
• Drive implementation and update of the brake system and document changes.
• Making safety analysis.
• Have close contact and cooperation with our suppliers of the brake system.
• Take part in our day-to-day business by supporting the organisation in brake-related matters.

You have
• Master or Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of work experience within a relevant field.
• Experience in product development and testing background within systems development.
• Understanding of CAN bus and tools such as Vector CANalyzer.
• Driver license for heavy trucks C and/or CE.
• Good knowledge of English and Swedish in both speech and writing.
