In Development Operations, we lead the global delivery of AstraZeneca's early and late-stage clinical trials and delivers science through a wide range of specialist expertise, operational excellence and data driven innovation. Providing the key connection between science and commercialisation, the organisation of >2,400 employees in 40 countries, delivers trials to the highest standards of quality, efficiency and ethics to thousands of patients globally.

We now looking for a dedicated and highly motivated colleague to join and support our scientific communications and engagement. You can be based in one of our dynamic sites in Gothenburg - Sweden, Cambridge - UK, Gaithersburg - US, Warsaw - Poland or Toronto - Canada



What you'll do

In this role, you'll get the opportunity to support the development and implementation of the communication strategy for our Development Operations function. This includes shaping the ongoing flow of information, to ensure that Development Operations communication rises above the "noise". To do this, we'll rely on you to identify and drive innovative ways of bringing the Development Operations voice to the relevant partners, audiences and agendas.

You will use your broad understanding of internal communication, principles and tactics to develop, implement and measure the internal communication strategy for the whole of our function - continually identifying and delivering on opportunities for improvement.

This is a collaborative role where you will work across functions as well as with external partners to drive and provide communication support for internal and external engagements, monthly reporting, and various events. You will be reporting to the Senior Director, Business Planning and Operations.



Examples of tasks:

Leads the planning, communication asset creation and implementation to support key strategic needs, including video scripting, filming and editing, event planning and delivery etc
*

Develop creative content to break through the "noise" of other internal communications by delivering and completing a plan to engage key stakeholders through a variety of digital and personal channels
*

Clearly and coherently articulate the Development Operations purpose across our diverse community - ultimately putting appropriate frameworks, tools and guidance in place to drive Development Operations into becoming a community of self-motivated communicators
*

Rapidly develop and deliver communications of key announcements for the function, using a variety of information channels such as email, internal web pages etc
*

Assist with designing, compiling and polishing impactful presentations, on behalf of the Leadership Team of Development Operations
*

Supports the information sharing strategy for use of specific collaboration mechanisms, such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online



Essential for the role

We believe that you have a PhD or MSc in Life science, complemented by significant experience in science communication with a proven track record of clearly and creatively articulate science fit for the audience. Furthermore, you possess a strong ability to engage, influence and collaborate across boundaries, always with a delivery focus and a problem-solving approach.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug development process
*

Strong influencing, networking and team working skills
*

A proven track record of delivering tasks in a timely manner
*

Experience in social media management, video editing and graphic design tools is desirable
