The Assistant Principal is key to our school's success and will lead in developing all areas of the Junior School (grades 3 - 6). You will build upon behaviour, welfare and academic systems, enabling teachers to teach and students to learn. You will work closely with the Principal, student support team, Operational manager, Academic Manager and of course teachers and students.
The successful candidate will be a forward thinking leader and positive role model, with the ability to inspire both students and staff. They will get satisfaction from working with a wide range of people and welcome challenges.
The ideal candidate has teaching qualifications and leadership experience. Great communication skills in English are essential with Swedish an advantage. We feel that the right attitude is important, which is why we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, focused and resilient to the day-to-day pressures that working in education can bring.

Internationella Engelska Skolan Gävle was established in 2003. It is a school for grades 3 to 9 with over 1,200 students. The school is located in two buildings, years 3-6 in Södra Kungsgatan 59, and years 7-9 in Södra Sjötullsgatan 3. We provide an international and stimulating environment, where commitment, professionalism and the English language are common denominators.
Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff.
